Spring 2017 - Biofabrication and 3D Printing (ENGR 8990)

The goal of this course is to provide extensive knowledge about methods of processing of polymers and fabrication of biomedical devices from polymers. The students will be trained how:
• to select polymer for fabrication of biomedical devices;
• to select method of processing by considering properties of polymers and desired application; 
• how to program and to operate different kinds of 3D printers;
• how to print biomedical devices.

Spring 2017 - Soft Matter ( ENGG(CHEM) 4615/6615)

Introduction to soft condensed matter, including the general aspects of chemistry, physical properties, structure and dynamics, and applications of soft materials (including polymers, colloids, liquid crystals, amphiphiles, gels, and biomaterials). Emphasis is placed on the molecular forces related to self-assembly.

Spring 2016 - Biomaterials Based on Polymers, Fibers, and Textiles (TXMI 8000)

Chemistry and properties of materials made of synthetic and natural polymers; fibers and textiles for biotechnology and biomedical applications, including biointerfaces, biocatalysis, drug delivery, cell culture, biosensors, diagnostics, and other emerging applications of biomaterials.
